'I'm bored'. Living in a village as I do now, there are still children to be seen on the common ground and playing fields with sporting equipment, depending on the time of year, football soon to be replaced with cricket or tennis as the cricket season is under way and Wimbledon not far off. And you can see groups of children suitably kitted out with helmet, knee and elbow pads, going off on their bikes, which pleases me. I never mastered a bike I'm afraid... no balance at all, and even worse now I'm older. But I grew up across the road from the beach for the first fifteen years of my life and so that was my playground on fine days, and we were totally safe, parents never had to worry about us. Indoors and it was making tents from tables, clothes horse and blankets, and as I grew older pretending to be a secretary with toy typewriter, or a librarian with the bookcases of books my parents had. As you say, the imagination was the best toy I had too, and luckily still have!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2381922366997546161.post-77903367888888231272011-05-15T16:47:59.211-07:002011-05-15T16:47:59.211-07:00look at you now!!
